Name: Tripp Lite U209 000 R Driver
Author: Tripp Lite

Question 1

Install fails or setup stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Tripp Lite driver installer as administrator, disconnect the U209-000-R until prompted, and close other serial/PL2303 software. If setup still fails, use Device Manager > Update driver and point it to the extracted driver folder.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the USB-to-serial adapter directly into a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, check Ports (COM & LPT) or Unknown devices; uninstall any yellow-marked entry, rescan, then reconnect. Try another USB port/cable.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts (Code 10, BSOD, wrong COM)?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Prolific/PL2303 and virtual-COM drivers, reboot, then install the latest Tripp Lite driver. If a Windows auto-update breaks it, roll back the driver and confirm the assigned COM port in Device Manager.
