The Canon MF4770N driver lets Windows communicate with your multifunction laser printer so you can send documents to print and adjust output settings. Installing the appropriate Canon software can also enable scanning, depending on the package you choose.
Key Features
- Reliable document printing: Provides the connection between Windows applications and the Canon MF4770N, allowing you to print everyday documents such as invoices, letters, and reports.
- Adjustable print settings: Gives you access to options such as paper size, orientation, copy count, and print quality to suit different jobs.
- USB and network setup: Supports printing through a direct USB connection or the printer’s Ethernet connection when the correct driver and port are configured.
- Scanning support: A compatible scanner driver and utility let you capture paper documents using the flatbed or automatic document feeder. Check whether these components are included in your download or supplied separately.
How to Install
- Check your Windows version. Before downloading, confirm whether your computer runs Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7. Check the system architecture as well, and choose a package explicitly listed as compatible with your setup.
- Prepare the printer. Turn on the Canon MF4770N and load paper. For an Ethernet installation, connect it to the same local network as your computer. For USB setup, leave the cable disconnected until the installer asks you to connect it.
- Run the downloaded package. Extract the files if necessary, open the setup program, and approve the Windows permission prompt. Follow the instructions to select the components you need.
- Choose the connection method. Select USB or network installation as appropriate. If the network search does not find the printer, check its network connection and use its IP address if the installer offers that option.
- Verify operation. Finish setup and restart Windows if prompted. Print a test page, then try a scan if you installed the scanning components.
If installation fails, double-check the package’s supported operating systems rather than assuming an older driver will work on a newer version of Windows. For a printer that appears offline, confirm the cable connection and selected printer port before reinstalling.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or stalls: Run the Canon setup as administrator, connect USB only when prompted, and temporarily disable antivirus. Remove older Canon MF drivers and reboot before retrying.
- Printer not detected (USB or network): For USB, use a direct rear-port connection and a known-good cable. For network, confirm the MF4770N has a valid IP on the same subnet, enter the IP manually in the installer, and verify RAW/9100 or LPD is enabled.
- Driver/version conflicts: Uninstall old Canon MF/UFR II and scanner drivers, then install the matching MF4770N UFR II printer driver and scanner driver. Avoid mixing 32-bit/64-bit packages; reboot after removal and reinstall.
