Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZK4000 driver installer as administrator, use the x64 package on 64-bit Windows, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if Windows blocks the ZK USB driver. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB cable/port, preferably a rear port. Confirm the ZK4000 is in USB communication mode, then check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or “ZK USB Device” and manually update that entry with the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZKSoftware/ZKUSBDriver and attendance SDK entries first, remove hidden USB devices, reboot, then install only the driver version matching your ZK4000 firmware and attendance software.
