The Canon MF4500 Series driver lets Windows communicate with your Canon multifunction laser printer, so you can send documents to print and adjust settings from your computer. Choose a package that matches your exact MF4500 Series model and Windows version, whether you use Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.
Key Features
- Printing support: Provides the software Windows needs to recognize the printer and process print jobs from everyday applications.
- Print settings access: Lets you select available options such as paper size, orientation, copy count, and print quality, depending on your model and driver.
- Model-specific functions: Makes supported printer capabilities available through the Windows print interface. Features such as automatic two-sided printing depend on the hardware.
- Multifunction setup options: Compatible scanner drivers or utilities may also be available for models with scanning capabilities. These can require a separate installation from the printer driver.
How to Install
- Confirm your model and Windows version. Check the printer’s label for its full model number. In Windows system information, verify your operating system and whether it uses a 32-bit or 64-bit architecture. Do not assume every package supports all four Windows versions.
- Download the matching driver. Select the Canon MF4500 Series package intended for your model and operating system. If you also need scanning, check whether the download includes scanner support or requires an additional package.
- Prepare the printer. Turn it on and clear any errors shown on its display. For a USB installation, keep the cable disconnected until the installer asks you to connect it, unless the package instructions say otherwise.
- Run the installer. Extract the downloaded files if necessary, launch the setup program, and approve the Windows permission prompt. Follow the on-screen instructions and select the connection method supported by your printer.
- Verify the installation. Restart Windows if prompted, then open the printer settings and print a test page. If you installed scanner software, try a scan separately to confirm that both functions work.
If installation fails, check the package’s compatibility information before trying another driver. A driver offered for an older Windows release is not automatically suitable for Windows 11.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or stalls: Disconnect the USB cable until the installer prompts, run setup as administrator, remove older Canon MF drivers, reboot, then reinstall the MF4500 Series package.
- Device not detected: For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable. For network, confirm the printer IP, same subnet, and correct Windows printer port; power-cycle printer/router.
- Version conflicts or scanning missing: Uninstall prior Canon UFR II and scanner/Scan Utility entries, match 32/64-bit Windows, and install printer and scanner drivers from the same MF4500 Series package.
