The GTCO CADPro is a precision digitizer designed for CAD, GIS, and graphics workflows, and its dedicated Windows driver allows your computer to interpret every pen stroke, puck movement, and button command correctly. Installing the proper driver ensures stable communication between the GTCO CADPro and Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7, keeping cursor tracking smooth and input data accurate in demanding design applications.

Key Features

  • Full recognition of the GTCO CADPro as an input device on modern and legacy Windows platforms, including Windows 11 and Windows 10.
  • Accurate mapping of the digitizer’s active area so pen and puck coordinates align precisely with your software’s drawing space.
  • Reliable support for multi-button puck commands and stylus input without requiring manual HID configuration.
  • Plug-and-play readiness after setup, allowing CAD, drafting, and illustration programs to receive absolute positioning data from the tablet.

How to Install

  1. Disconnect the GTCO CADPro from your computer if it is currently attached.
  2. Download the driver package that matches your Windows version, whether you are using Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.
  3. Run the installer as an administrator and follow the on-screen instructions. If no installer is included, open Device Manager, right-click the unrecognized input device, and select “Update driver.”
  4. Connect the GTCO CADPro when prompted or after the installation finishes, then let Windows complete the device detection process.
  5. Restart your PC and open a CAD or graphics application to verify that the pen and puck respond correctly. If needed, perform a calibration from the digitizer utility to fine-tune accuracy.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Installer fails or exits early: Run the CADPro driver installer as administrator and in compatibility mode for the Windows version it was built for. For legacy unsigned packages, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement. Remove any existing GTCO/CalComp tablet software first.
  • Device not detected: Confirm the CADPro has power and the cable/adapter is seated. For serial models, verify the correct COM port and matching baud/format settings. For USB-serial adapters, keep the same port and test with another serial application before reinstalling.
  • Driver/version conflicts: Uninstall old GTCO, CalComp, or Wintab tablet drivers, remove duplicate tablet entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install one CADPro driver version that matches your Windows version and connection type. Do not mix 32-bit and 64-bit drivers.
