The Bluetooth AVRCP Device driver helps Windows handle remote-control commands between your PC and compatible Bluetooth audio equipment. AVRCP stands for Audio/Video Remote Control Profile, which enables functions such as play, pause, and track selection on supported headphones, speakers, and other accessories.
Key Features
- Wireless playback controls: Allows compatible Bluetooth accessories to send media commands to supported Windows applications.
- Volume-control support: Helps coordinate volume adjustments where the accessory, Bluetooth software, and application support this function.
- Bluetooth profile integration: Works alongside your Bluetooth adapter’s drivers to support AVRCP communication. It does not replace the adapter driver or the separate profile used for audio streaming.
- Windows compatibility: Driver packages may be available for Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7. Choose a version that matches your operating system, system architecture, and hardware.
How to Install
- Check your Windows version and device details. Open Device Manager and locate Bluetooth AVRCP Device, which may appear under Bluetooth or Other devices. If the correct package is unclear, check its hardware IDs under Properties > Details.
- Download a matching driver package. Select the manufacturer’s driver intended for your hardware and Windows version. Some systems include AVRCP support within the Bluetooth adapter package rather than as a standalone download.
- Install the driver. If the package includes an installer, run it and follow the prompts. For extracted driver files, right-click the device in Device Manager, choose Update driver, and select Browse my computer for drivers. Point Windows to the extracted folder.
- Restart and reconnect. Restart your PC if requested, then reconnect your Bluetooth accessory. If media controls still do not respond, remove the accessory from Windows Bluetooth settings and pair it again.
- Test supported controls. Play audio in a compatible application and try the accessory’s playback buttons. If audio works but remote controls do not, check the Bluetooth adapter driver and accessory documentation; available AVRCP functions vary by device and software.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Driver install fails or rolls back: Disconnect the Bluetooth AVRCP device, remove old Bluetooth/AVRCP entries in Device Manager (enable Show hidden devices), then run the manufacturer installer as administrator and reboot before reconnecting.
- Device not detected or media controls don’t work: Confirm the device is paired and enabled as an audio/remote device in Bluetooth settings. Restart the Bluetooth Support Service, then remove and re-pair the device so Windows reloads the AVRCP profile.
- Version conflicts after Windows or driver updates: Uninstall the current AVRCP driver, install the manufacturer version matching your Windows build, and prevent automatic replacement in Device Manager if Windows reverts it. Re-pair after installation.
