Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle Driver
Download for Windows — free, fast, always up-to-date
The Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle driver connects this external video capture and playback device to Windows, allowing compatible software to access its video and audio inputs and outputs. Installed through Blackmagic Design’s Desktop Video package, it provides the device support and configuration tools needed for recording, monitoring, and playback.
Key Features
- Video capture and playback support: Enables compatible applications to work with the Shuttle’s HDMI and analog connections for supported video formats.
- Audio integration: Provides access to supported audio inputs and outputs alongside video, helping you capture sound and picture through the same device.
- Device configuration tools: Includes Desktop Video settings for selecting connections and adjusting available capture and playback options.
- Application connectivity: Allows supported editing, capture, and streaming software to recognize the hardware when the application and driver versions are compatible.
How to Install
- Identify your Shuttle model and connection type. USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt versions have different hardware requirements. Confirm that your computer has a compatible interface; a matching connector alone does not guarantee compatibility.
- Choose the appropriate Desktop Video release. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, check the package’s release notes for both operating-system compatibility and explicit Intensity Shuttle support. Do not assume the newest release supports every older device.
- Prepare your system. Close video applications and follow the package instructions if an existing Desktop Video installation needs to be removed before proceeding.
- Run the installer as an administrator. Follow the prompts, approve any required device-software installation, and restart Windows if requested. If a device update is offered, keep the Shuttle connected until it finishes.
- Configure and test the device. Open Desktop Video Setup, confirm that the Shuttle is detected, and select the correct input. In your capture application, choose a video format that matches the source signal and is supported by the hardware.
Although it may appear in a GPU download category, the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle is a video capture and playback interface, not a graphics card. If it is not detected or produces a blank preview, check the connection, host-controller compatibility, input selection, and signal format before reinstalling the driver.
Common Issues and Fixes
- Install fails or hangs: Disconnect the Intensity Shuttle, uninstall any older Blackmagic Desktop Video package, reboot, then run the latest installer as administrator and approve the driver prompt.
- Device not detected: Connect directly to a compatible USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt port—not a hub—and check cable/power. Open Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup and Device Manager; update firmware only once the device appears.
- Version conflicts: Match Desktop Video to your OS and editing/capture software. Remove mixed beta/release drivers, reboot, install one current version, then reconnect the Shuttle.
