The IS25 driver helps Windows recognize the Avision IS25 and communicate with it so compatible software can access the device. If you are setting it up for the first time, reconnecting it after a Windows reinstall, or troubleshooting detection issues, installing the correct driver is an important first step.

Key Features

  • Device recognition: Provides the software connection Windows needs to identify the Avision IS25 correctly.
  • Application access: Enables compatible camera or image-capture software to communicate with the device, depending on the application’s requirements.
  • Windows compatibility: Supports Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, and XP when you select the package intended for your operating system.
  • Driver maintenance: Lets you install or update the device software when a suitable replacement package is available.

How to Install IS25 Driver

  1. Check your Windows version. Open your system information and confirm both the Windows edition and whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. For Windows 10/11 systems, note that Windows 10 is listed as supported; Windows 11 compatibility is not confirmed here.
  2. Choose the matching package. Before starting your IS25 driver download for Windows, review the supported operating systems and any installation notes. Select the latest version that explicitly supports your setup, rather than assuming the newest package works on every Windows release.
  3. Download and prepare the files. Use a trusted free download source, preferably the manufacturer when available. Save the package somewhere easy to find, scan it with your security software, and extract it if it comes as an archive.
  4. Install the driver. Run the supplied installer and follow its prompts, including any instructions about when to connect the device. If the package contains only driver files, use Device Manager’s “Update driver” option and browse to the extracted folder.
  5. Verify operation. Restart Windows if prompted, then check that the device appears without a warning icon in Device Manager. Open your compatible capture application to confirm that it can detect and use the IS25.

Keep your driver updated by checking periodically for a compatible release, especially after operating-system changes or recurring connection problems. Review release notes before an update, and retain a working installer so you can restore your previous setup if needed.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Install fails or rolls back: Uninstall any older Avision/TWAIN scanner software first, reboot, then run the IS25 driver installer as administrator. Connect the scanner’s USB cable only when the installer prompts you.
  • Scanner not detected: Use a rear USB port directly on the PC, not a hub. Power-cycle the IS25, check Device Manager under “Imaging devices,” and confirm the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is running.
  • Version conflicts with older drivers: Remove previous Avision scanner entries in Device Manager and Apps & Features, reboot, then install the correct 32-bit/64-bit IS25 package. In your scanning app, reselect the IS25 TWAIN/WIA driver as default.
