The Avid Mojo DX driver allows Windows to recognize the Avid video interface and makes its capture and playback functions available to compatible Avid editing software. Installing the correct driver helps your workstation communicate with the hardware for video input, output, and monitoring during post-production.

Key Features

  • Hardware recognition: Provides the system-level connection needed for compatible Avid software to detect and use the Mojo DX interface.
  • Video capture and playback: Enables supported applications to access the device’s video input and output capabilities.
  • Audio and video integration: Supports communication between the editing application and the interface for supported audio/video workflows.
  • External monitoring: Allows compatible editing software to send output through the Mojo DX to connected monitoring equipment.

How to Install

  1. Check compatibility before downloading. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, verify that the specific driver release supports your operating system, Avid application version, and workstation hardware. Do not assume one package supports all four Windows versions.
  2. Download the appropriate Avid package. Mojo DX drivers may be supplied with compatible Avid editing software or its associated hardware installer. Read the package notes to confirm that Mojo DX is included.
  3. Prepare your workstation. Close editing applications and follow Avid’s instructions for connecting the interface and installing its required host hardware. Shut down and disconnect power before fitting any internal card.
  4. Run the installer. Launch the setup program with administrator permissions and follow the prompts. If an older driver must be removed first, use the procedure specified in the installation notes.
  5. Restart and test the interface. Reboot if requested, power on the Mojo DX, and open your compatible Avid application. Check that the interface is detected, then test capture or external playback using the correct project and connection settings.

Common Issues and Fixes

  • Installer fails or rolls back: Disconnect the Mojo DX, close Media Composer, and run the Avid Video Peripherals/Media Composer installer as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus and verify your Media Composer and Windows versions match Avid’s Mojo DX compatibility list.
  • Device not detected: Power-cycle the Mojo DX, reseat the PCIe host card, and try a different PCIe slot or cable. Confirm the Avid host card/driver appears in Device Manager, then reinstall the Avid driver after removing old device entries.
  • Version conflicts after upgrade: Uninstall previous Avid drivers before installing the matching driver version. Mojo DX firmware, driver, and Media Composer release must align; mismatches can cause “device offline” or failed initialization.
