The Logitech G27 driver helps Windows recognize the racing wheel, pedals, and gear shifter so compatible games can receive steering and control inputs correctly. Logitech’s supporting software also provides access to force feedback and control settings, letting you tailor the wheel’s response to your driving preferences.
Key Features
- Wheel, pedal, and shifter recognition: Enables compatible racing games to detect the G27’s steering axis, accelerator, brake, clutch, and gear inputs.
- Force feedback support: Allows supported games to deliver effects such as steering resistance, road texture, and traction changes through the wheel.
- Adjustable control settings: Provides options for steering rotation, sensitivity, and feedback strength where available in the installed Logitech software.
- Button assignments and profiles: Helps you configure wheel buttons and create game-specific control layouts using compatible Logitech configuration tools.
How to Install
- Check your Windows version. Identify whether you are using Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, and confirm whether your installation is 32-bit or 64-bit. Choose a Logitech G27 package that explicitly supports your configuration; this legacy device may require additional compatibility checks on newer Windows versions.
- Prepare the hardware. Secure the wheel, connect the pedals and shifter to the wheel base, and attach its power supply. Leave the USB cable disconnected until the installer requests it, unless the package instructions say otherwise.
- Run the installer. Close racing games and any running wheel configuration utilities, then open the downloaded setup file. Approve the Windows permission prompt and follow the installation instructions.
- Connect and verify the G27. Plug the wheel directly into a USB port on your computer when prompted. Keep your hands clear while it performs its automatic calibration, and restart Windows if requested.
- Test and configure your controls. Open the installed Logitech utility or Windows game controller settings to check steering, pedals, and buttons. In your racing game, select or configure the G27, assign the shifter controls, and adjust force feedback to a comfortable level.
The G27 uses legacy Logitech software, so do not assume that newer Logitech utilities support it. If detection fails, check the package compatibility notes and try another direct USB connection before reinstalling.
