The Line 6 Pocket POD driver helps Windows communicate with this compact guitar amp and effects processor over USB. With a compatible driver and editor installed, you can manage presets and adjust tones from your computer rather than relying only on the device’s onboard controls.

Key Features

  • USB MIDI communication: Provides the connection used by compatible software to exchange control and preset data with the Pocket POD.
  • Computer-based tone editing: Supports access through a compatible editor, making it easier to adjust amp models, effects, and other preset settings.
  • Preset management: Enables compatible applications to transfer and organize sounds, helping you keep favorite tones available for practice or performance.
  • Windows device recognition: Helps Windows identify the connected hardware correctly. For Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7, check that the selected package explicitly supports your operating system and system architecture.

The Pocket POD’s USB connection is intended for MIDI control and editing, not USB audio recording. To record its processed guitar sound, connect an appropriate audio output to a separate audio interface.

How to Install

  1. Check compatibility. Confirm your Windows version and whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit. Review the driver’s supported-device list and release notes before downloading; older packages may not support every Windows version listed above.
  2. Prepare the computer. Download the appropriate Line 6 driver package, close any music applications, and leave the Pocket POD disconnected unless the installer instructions say otherwise.
  3. Run the installer. Open the downloaded package and approve the Windows permission prompt if requested. Follow the setup instructions, including any directions about when to connect the device.
  4. Connect and power on the Pocket POD. Use a suitable USB data cable and preferably a direct USB port on your computer. Allow Windows to finish detecting the hardware, then restart if prompted.
  5. Verify the connection. Check Device Manager for warnings and open your compatible tone-editing software. Select the Pocket POD’s MIDI connection if required, then confirm that the software can communicate with the device.

If detection fails, try another USB cable or port and recheck package compatibility. Installing a driver alone does not install a tone editor, so you may need compatible editing software separately.
