The Line 6 POD HD500 driver enables your Windows PC to communicate with this guitar multi-effects processor and amp modeler over USB. It supports USB audio recording and playback, helping you use the POD HD500 with compatible recording software and Line 6 applications.

Key Features

  • USB audio connectivity: Record the POD HD500’s processed guitar signal in a compatible digital audio workstation and play computer audio through the unit.
  • ASIO support: Provides an audio connection for Windows recording applications that support ASIO, with buffer settings that help balance responsiveness and playback stability.
  • Device communication: Allows compatible Line 6 software to recognize the connected processor for supported editing and device-management tasks.
  • Windows integration: Establishes the connection needed to use the hardware on supported Windows systems. Choose a driver release that explicitly lists your version of Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7.

How to Install

  1. Confirm the model and operating system. Check that your hardware is the Line 6 POD HD500, not the POD HD500X, and verify your Windows version and system architecture before selecting a download.
  2. Prepare your computer. Close recording software and other audio applications. Download the appropriate Line 6 driver installer, and keep the USB cable disconnected unless the installation instructions say otherwise.
  3. Run the installer. Open the downloaded file, approve the Windows permission prompt, and follow the setup instructions. Connect the processor when prompted, or after setup finishes if no prompt appears.
  4. Connect and verify the hardware. Power on the POD HD500 and connect it directly to a USB port on your computer. Allow Windows to finish detecting it, and restart the PC if requested.
  5. Configure your audio software. Select the Line 6 POD HD500 as the input and output device in your recording application. Choose its ASIO driver where available, then test recording and playback before adjusting the buffer size.

If the processor is not detected, try another USB cable or a different port without a hub. For audio dropouts, increase the buffer size and confirm that your installed driver supports your Windows version.
