Question 1

Driver install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the ASI224MC, run the latest ZWO ASI Driver/ASIStudio installer as administrator, and temporarily pause antivirus. Uninstall any older ASI camera driver first, reboot, then reconnect the camera.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a known-good USB 3.0 cable in a direct rear motherboard port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device; try a USB 2.0 port/cable to isolate. Close ASIStudio, SharpCap, or other apps that may already hold the camera.

Question 3

Version/ASCOM conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old ZWO ASI and ASCOM drivers, install the current ZWO driver plus matching ASCOM driver, and reboot. In software, select “ZWO ASI224MC,” not a generic WDM/webcam entry.
