Name: ZTE Mobile Broadband Network Adapter Driver
Author: ZTE

Question 1

Installation fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the adapter, uninstall any existing ZTE Mobile Broadband software/driver via Apps & Features and Device Manager, reboot, then run the downloaded installer as administrator. If it still fails, temporarily disable antivirus and retry.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port (avoid hubs), check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or the ZTE adapter, and reinsert the device. Confirm the SIM is seated and the adapter is not in storage-only mode; then reinstall the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

If Windows installs a generic or older driver, open Device Manager > Network adapters > ZTE adapter > Update driver > Browse, and select the downloaded ZTE package. Remove duplicate ZTE entries, reboot, and avoid mixing old ZTE Connection Manager with the new driver.
