Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZTE CE1588 USB modem installer as Administrator, match the driver to your Windows version/architecture, and temporarily disable driver signature enforcement if Windows blocks the unsigned modem driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the CE1588 directly into a rear USB port, avoid hubs, and check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or a modem in storage mode. Reinstall the driver, then reconnect the USB modem.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ZTE USB modem/dial-up drivers, select “Delete the driver software” for the CE1588 in Device Manager, reboot, then install the latest package.
