Name: Zoom 5031 Driver
Author: Zoom

Question 1

Install fails or Windows blocks the driver?

Accepted Answer

Run the Zoom 5031 setup as administrator. If Windows rejects the older/unsigned modem driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install, then re-enable it.

Question 2

Modem not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the Zoom 5031 directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device or Modems entry; unplug/replug, reinstall the driver, and note the assigned COM port.

Question 3

Version conflict or old driver remains?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any existing Zoom modem driver and remove stale entries under Modems and Ports in Device Manager. Reboot before installing the current package, then verify the correct COM port in dial-up settings.
