Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the ZK USB driver installer as administrator. If using an older unsigned driver, temporarily disable Windows driver signature enforcement, reboot, then retry. Uninstall any existing ZKSoftware/ZKTeco driver first.

Question 2

X628 TC not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the terminal’s communication mode (USB/RS232/RS485), use a known-good cable, and inspect Device Manager for an unknown USB/serial device. Note the assigned COM port and select that same port in ZKTime/ZKAccess.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old ZK drivers and reboot before installing the 32-bit/64-bit package matching Windows. When using multiple terminals, assign each a unique COM port to avoid connection conflicts.
