Author: Zebra

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Zebra LP 2844 installer as administrator, disconnect the printer until prompted, and remove any older Zebra/ZDesigner driver packages first. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct USB port rather than a hub, power-cycle the LP 2844, try a known-good USB cable, and check Device Manager for an unknown device. If using serial/parallel, confirm the correct port is selected.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Zebra printer queues and drivers via Print Management or Programs and Features, reboot, then install the correct 32-bit/64-bit ZDesigner LP 2844 package. Do not mix drivers for other Zebra models.
