Author: Zebra

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Zebra GK420D driver installer as administrator, close other printer utilities, and remove any partially installed GK420D queue in Print Management before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the GK420D is powered on and ready, use a direct USB port rather than a hub, try a known-good USB cable, and reconnect the printer after the driver installation completes.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Zebra drivers and duplicate GK420D queues via Print Management, restart Windows, then install the latest official Zebra driver to avoid mixed USB and Windows print driver versions.

Question 4

Bad print output after update?

Accepted Answer

Clear the print queue, set the GK420D as default only if needed, and verify media/calibration settings in Zebra Setup Utilities.
