Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing Zebra/ZDesigner drivers in Print Management, run the ZDesigner Z4Mplus 203DPI installer as administrator, and reboot before retrying. Avoid the Windows “Generic / Text Only” driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is powered, in Ready, and connected to the correct USB/serial/parallel port. In Printer Properties, set the matching port (e.g., USB001 or COMx); reseat the cable/change USB port, then power-cycle the printer.

Question 3

Version/port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Multiple Zebra drivers can redirect jobs. Delete unused Zebra queues, stop/restart Print Spooler, install the current ZDesigner package for the Z4Mplus 203DPI, and set it as default. Verify the 203 dpi model, not 300 dpi.
