Question 1

Install fails or drive shows as an unknown device?

Accepted Answer

The WD3200BEVT 22ZCT0 is a 2.5" SATA HDD and has no standalone WD driver. Update the motherboard SATA/AHCI or Intel RST/AMD SATA controller driver instead, using a Windows-compatible version.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port/cable, and confirm BIOS/UEFI detects the drive. In Windows, check Disk Management and initialize or assign a drive letter if unallocated.

Question 3

Version conflicts, resets, or BSODs?

Accepted Answer

Roll back or uninstall conflicting Intel RST/storage controller drivers, reboot, then install the correct AHCI driver. Do not mix older RAID/RST packages with standard AHCI mode.
