Question 1

Install fails or drive not recognized during setup?

Accepted Answer

The WD3200AVJS is a SATA AV hard drive and uses the motherboard’s AHCI/RAID controller driver, not a WD-specific package. Update chipset/SATA drivers, confirm BIOS SATA mode (AHCI/IDE/RAID), and try another SATA port/cable.

Question 2

Device not detected in Windows?

Accepted Answer

Check both SATA data and power connections; confirm the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI. If new, open Disk Management and initialize/partition it. Avoid USB-SATA adapters that may not supply enough power.

Question 3

Version conflicts after driver updates?

Accepted Answer

Remove or roll back conflicting storage-controller drivers in Device Manager; install only the correct 32/64-bit motherboard/PC vendor SATA driver. Do not force-install generic WD or third-party “driver” packages for this internal drive.
