Question 1

Install fails or driver is rejected?

Accepted Answer

Run the WeP installer as Administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for older Windows versions. If Windows blocks the driver, update it manually via Device Manager using the extracted DSI 5235 INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is connected to the correct port—USB001 for USB or LPT1 for parallel—and avoid unpowered USB adapters. Restart the print spooler, then add the printer manually with the DSI 5235 driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Remove existing WeP/Epson LQ-compatible printer queues and old drivers before reinstalling. In Print Management, delete stale DSI 5235 entries, reboot, then reinstall the matching driver version.
