Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

This WD2500BEVS 22UST0 is a standard SATA/ATA hard drive and usually needs no WD-specific driver. If a downloaded package fails, use Windows’ built-in Standard SATA AHCI Controller or install the correct motherboard chipset/SATA driver instead.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, confirm BIOS/UEFI SATA mode matches the installed controller driver, and verify the disk is online/initialized in Disk Management.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Mixing an older vendor AHCI driver with Windows’ standard driver can cause detection or boot issues. Roll back to Standard SATA AHCI Controller or update the chipset driver, then reconnect the drive.
