Name: WDC WD10EZEX 00KUWA0 Driver
Author: Western Digital

Question 1

Install fails or “unknown device”?

Accepted Answer

No dedicated Western Digital driver is needed for the WD10EZEX 00KUWA0; Windows uses the motherboard’s SATA/AHCI controller driver. Install the latest chipset/SATA driver from your motherboard or PC vendor, then rescan in Device Manager.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port/power lead, and confirm the BIOS/UEFI detects the WD10EZEX. In Windows, open Disk Management to initialize or assign a drive letter if it is new.

Question 3

Version conflicts or drive drops?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Intel RST/AMD RAID or third-party AHCI drivers if unstable. Keep the BIOS SATA mode consistent (AHCI or RAID) and use the matching storage driver; check SMART status with WD Dashboard or CrystalDiskInfo.
