Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Legacy Wacom GD 0608 U drivers often need compatibility mode. Run the installer as administrator, set compatibility to an older Windows version, and temporarily disable antivirus. Remove existing Wacom driver entries in Device Manager before retrying.

Question 2

Tablet not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB port instead of a hub, reseat the cable, and check Device Manager for unknown USB device errors. Unplug and reconnect after installation; test another USB port if needed.

Question 3

Version conflicts with newer Wacom drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall current Wacom drivers and Wacom Tablet Properties, reboot, then install only the GD 0608 U-compatible package. Avoid mixing legacy and current Wacom software; block automatic Windows driver replacement if it overwrites the legacy driver.
