Name: Visioneer Strobe XP 300 Driver
Author: Visioneer

Question 1

Install fails or stalls on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The XP 300 uses legacy drivers. Run the Visioneer installer as Administrator in Compatibility Mode for the supported Windows version, and temporarily disable antivirus. Do not use a generic scanner driver.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub or USB 3.0-only port. Reconnect the scanner, check Device Manager for unknown devices, and try a known-good USB cable.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Visioneer, PaperPort, and TWAIN/WIA entries first, reboot, then install only the matching 32/64-bit XP 300 driver. Set the scanner as default in your scanning app.
