Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Visioneer Strobe 400 driver setup as administrator, leave the scanner disconnected until prompted, and temporarily disable antivirus/SmartScreen. If it still fails, uninstall older Visioneer/OneTouch software and reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the Strobe 400 directly to a rear USB port with the supplied cable—avoid unpowered hubs. Check Device Manager for USB/unknown-device errors, reseat the cable, then reinstall the driver after removing stale entries.

Question 3

Version/OneTouch conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove previous Visioneer drivers and duplicate OneTouch installs before installing the current Strobe 400 package. Match your Windows 32/64-bit version and avoid mixing OEM and downloaded drivers.
