Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the OneTouch 5600 USB cable, uninstall any partial Visioneer driver, temporarily disable antivirus, then run the installer as administrator. Reconnect only when prompted.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB 2.0 port and cable; avoid hubs. Check Device Manager for unknown imaging devices, then reinstall the Visioneer driver. Confirm the scanner is powered and appears in Windows Fax and Scan.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows updates?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Visioneer/OneTouch software via Programs and Features, restart, and install the correct 5600 driver package. Don’t mix drivers from other Visioneer models; set the OneTouch 5600 as the default scanner.
