Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the QHM500LM camera, run the driver installer as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the old Vimicro package. Reboot before reconnecting.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a rear/direct USB port instead of a hub, check Device Manager for “Unknown device” or a yellow warning, and reinstall the Vimicro USB camera driver. Test the cable/port with another USB device.

Question 3

Version conflicts or camera app errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Vimicro/generic USB Video Class drivers, show and remove hidden devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install the QHM500LM driver matching your Windows version and architecture.
