Name: ViewSonic VX2268wm Driver
Author: ViewSonic

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Extract the VX2268wm driver package before use; don’t run the .INF directly. In Device Manager, right-click the monitor under Monitors, choose Update driver > Browse, and point to the extracted folder. If Windows blocks it, confirm the INF matches your Windows version and install as administrator.

Question 2

Monitor not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use the DVI-D dual-link cable for 120 Hz operation; VGA or a single-link/adapter may limit detection or refresh rate. Reseat both ends, power-cycle the monitor, then Device Manager > Action > Scan for hardware changes.

Question 3

Version/refresh conflicts?

Accepted Answer

If 120 Hz or native 1680×1050 is missing after a driver update, uninstall the monitor in Device Manager with “Delete driver software,” reboot, then install the ViewSonic VX2268wm package or use Windows’ generic monitor driver and set the mode in your GPU control panel.
