Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The VX2035WM package is usually a legacy monitor INF/ICM, not a GPU driver. Run the installer as administrator in Windows compatibility mode, or manually update via Device Manager > Monitors > ViewSonic VX2035WM > Update driver > Browse > Have Disk, and point to the `.inf`.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / shows “Generic PnP Monitor”?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the VGA/DVI cable, confirm the monitor’s input source, try another port, and power-cycle both devices. Then use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes; if it remains generic, install the INF manually.

Question 3

Version or color-profile conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate VX2035WM entries in Device Manager and Color Management, reboot, then reinstall the package matching your Windows version.
