Question 1

Install fails?

Accepted Answer

The monitor .inf may be rejected if Windows already has a generic PnP monitor driver. Run the downloaded setup as administrator, or update via Device Manager > Monitors > ViewSonic VA2431 > Update driver > Browse. Reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the VA2431 is powered on and set to the correct VGA/DVI input. Reseat the cable, try another port/cable, then in Device Manager select Action > Scan for hardware changes. If only “Generic PnP Monitor” appears, the monitor is detected but using the Windows driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older ViewSonic monitor entries and color profiles in Device Manager/Color Management, restart, then install the VA2431 package. If resolution is stuck below 1920x1080, update the graphics adapter driver and set 1920x1080 manually.
