Name: Viewsonic VA2216W Driver
Author: ViewSonic

Question 1

Install fails or .inf rejected?

Accepted Answer

VA2216W uses a monitor INF/ICM, not a graphics driver. Extract the package, then Device Manager > Monitors > ViewSonic VA2216W > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk, and select the .inf. Run as admin; if blocked, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / Generic PnP only?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the VGA cable, check power and input source, try another port/adapter, then Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. If EDID is missing, keep Generic PnP and set 1680x1050 manually.

Question 3

Version conflicts or bad color/resolution?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old ViewSonic monitor entries and color profiles, reboot, then reinstall the matching INF. Don’t mix Windows Update’s generic monitor driver with the OEM package; roll back if settings break.
