Name: UTAX CD 5240 Driver
Author: UTAX

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX CD 5240/KX printer driver in Print Management, delete its printer port, reboot, then run the downloaded installer as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks driver files.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For network use, reserve/static the CD 5240’s IP, confirm the PC and printer are on the same subnet, ping it, and add a Standard TCP/IP port using that IP—not WSD. For USB, use a rear port and a known-good cable.

Question 3

Version conflicts / wrong driver?

Accepted Answer

Match the package to Windows version and 32/64-bit. Uninstall older UTAX/Kyocera KX drivers, remove duplicate CD 5240 queues, reboot, and reinstall only the current package.
