Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX/Kyocera print queue and driver via Print Management, reboot, then run the CD 5140L/DC 6140L installer as administrator. Disable antivirus temporarily if it blocks the setup file.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, try a different port/cable and avoid hubs. For network, confirm the printer’s IP, ensure PC and device are on the same subnet, ping the IP, then add it manually as a TCP/IP port using the correct UTAX driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts/duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old UTAX/Kyocera driver packages, clear the print spooler, and install the matching 32/64-bit package. Do not mix older CD/DC drivers with the current KX driver.
