Name: UTAX CD 1440 Driver
Author: UTAX

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX CD 1440 queue and driver package in Print Management, reboot, then run the installer as administrator with the printer powered on and connected. Temporarily disable security software only if it blocks setup.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, connect directly to the PC, not a hub, and try another port/cable; power-cycle the CD 1440. For network, confirm the printer IP, ping it, and recreate the TCP/IP port.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Delete old UTAX driver packages and duplicate CD 1440 queues, reboot, then install the latest signed package matching Windows architecture. Avoid mixing 32-bit and 64-bit drivers on a print server.
