Question 1

Install fails or setup stops?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing UTAX/KX printer entry, disconnect the USB cable, and run the CD 1222 installer as administrator. Confirm the package matches your Windows version and architecture.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable. For network, verify the printer IP and that port 9100/LPR is reachable; add the CD 1222 manually via a TCP/IP port if auto-discovery fails.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old UTAX or KX drivers, delete stale print queues, and reboot. Install the matching 32/64-bit CD 1222 driver and avoid mixing Universal KX with model-specific packages.
