Name: USB to Serial Steren Driver
Author: Steren

Question 1

Install fails or driver won’t load?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the adapter’s chipset (e.g., FTDI, Prolific, CH340) via Device Manager or USB VID/PID, then install the matching Steren/manufacturer driver as Administrator. Remove any older USB-to-serial driver first and reboot.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port and a known-good cable; avoid unpowered hubs. In Device Manager, check for “Unknown device” or devices with errors, then reinstall the driver and rescan hardware.

Question 3

Version conflicts or error Code 10/43?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall all existing USB-to-serial drivers, including hidden devices, reboot, and install only the latest Windows-compatible driver. If multiple adapters are used, assign a fixed COM port to avoid conflicts.
