Name: USB RPS to Bosch ST IN CP (COM9) Driver
Author: Bosch

Question 1

Install fails or Windows blocks the driver?

Accepted Answer

Run the manufacturer’s installer as administrator. If Windows flags the driver as unsigned/legacy, allow it during installation or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reboot before reconnecting the USB RPS to Bosch ST IN CP adapter.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown USB serial device or yellow warning. Use a direct USB port instead of a hub, reinstall the driver, and confirm COM9 appears under Ports. If another COM number appears, update the Bosch ST IN CP software’s port setting.

Question 3

Version conflicts or COM9 changes?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older USB-to-serial/RPS drivers, reboot, and reinstall the current package. In Device Manager, assign the adapter a fixed COM9 so the Bosch software keeps the correct connection.
