Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the manufacturer’s UPort 1150 installer as Administrator and use the package matching your Windows version. Disconnect the adapter during installation, reboot if prompted, then plug it in.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a different USB port and cable, avoid unpowered hubs, and check the adapter’s LED. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if it appears with a warning, update the driver manually from the downloaded folder.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older UPort/USB-to-serial drivers and remove unused COM ports in Device Manager, including hidden devices. Install the latest driver, reboot, then reassign the COM port if another device is using it.
