Name: UMAX Astra 3400 Driver
Author: UMAX

Question 1

Installation fails on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

The Astra 3400 uses a legacy driver. Run the installer as Administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode; only disable driver signature enforcement if the package requires it. Install the driver before connecting the scanner.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the Astra 3400 directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. Try a known-good USB cable and confirm the scanner powers on. Check Device Manager for unknown devices, then reinstall the UMAX driver.

Question 3

TWAIN/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older UMAX or other scanner TWAIN drivers and hidden devices. Match the driver to your scanning app’s 32/64-bit version, reboot, and set the Astra 3400 as the default scanner.
