Name: UMAX Astra 2200 Driver
Author: UMAX

Question 1

Install fails or driver is rejected?

Accepted Answer

The Astra 2200 driver is old and often unsigned or 32-bit only. Run the installer as administrator in Windows XP/7 compatibility mode; if Windows blocks it, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the Astra 2200 is powered on and connected directly to a USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device, reseat the cable, and reinstall the driver before opening scanning software.

Question 3

Version conflicts/TWAIN errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove older UMAX drivers and duplicate scanner entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install one driver version only. In your scanning app, select the UMAX Astra 2200 TWAIN source explicitly.
