Question 1

Install fails or Windows blocks the driver?

Accepted Answer

Run the TVS setup as administrator. If Windows rejects the INF, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then use Device Manager to point to the extracted MSP 240 STAR driver folder.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the dot-matrix printer is powered on and connected to the correct USB or LPT port. Try another USB 2.0 port/cable or reseat the parallel cable. Check Device Manager for unknown devices and print a self-test.

Question 3

Version or port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old TVS/Star printer queues and drivers, restart Print Spooler, then install the latest MSP 240 STAR driver. Set the correct port and dot-matrix emulation (e.g., Epson/IBM); avoid mixing 32-bit and 64-bit drivers.
