Name: TSST DVD RW TS H653F ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Install fails or drive disappears after update?

Accepted Answer

The TSST H653F normally uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver, so don’t force an incompatible TSST package. Run any installer as administrator, or use Device Manager > right-click the drive > Update driver > Search automatically. If it still fails, uninstall the device and restart.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/IDE data and power cables, confirm the drive is listed in BIOS, then use Device Manager > Action > Scan for hardware changes. For ATA mode, make sure the motherboard chipset/storage controller driver is installed.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate entries?

Accepted Answer

Remove old optical-drive entries and third-party filter drivers, restart, and let Windows reinstall the generic driver. Avoid driver-updater tools; use Device Manager or Windows Update.
