Author: TSST

Question 1

Drive not detected in File Explorer/Device Manager?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/power cable and BIOS detection first. In Device Manager, uninstall the CD/DVD entry and scan for hardware changes. If error Code 19/39/41 appears, back up the registry, remove optical-drive `UpperFilters`/`LowerFilters` values, then reboot.

Question 2

Driver install/update fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows normally uses the built-in `cdrom.sys` driver for this TSST ATA optical drive. Do not use generic “driver updater” packages. Uninstall the device, reboot, and let Windows reinstall the inbox driver; use OEM firmware/driver only if it matches the exact model.

Question 3

Conflicts with burning/virtual-drive software or old drivers?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall third-party burning tools and virtual drive software, reboot, then reinstall the current app. Avoid forcing an older TSST driver over the Windows inbox driver; use Device Manager rollback only if a newer update caused the problem.
