Name: TSST CDDVDW TS H653R ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The TS-H653R is an optical drive and normally uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver. If a downloaded installer fails, verify it matches the exact model and interface; otherwise remove third-party drivers and let Windows install the standard optical drive driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check power and SATA/ATA cable seating, try another cable/port, and confirm BIOS detects the drive. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if an error appears, uninstall the device and restart.

Question 3

Version/conflict errors?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate optical-drive entries and old upper/lower filter drivers, then reinstall the ATA/SATA controller driver. Avoid generic driver updaters; use Windows Update or TSST firmware only if it explicitly supports the TS-H653R.
