Name: TSST CDDVDW TS H653J ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Install fails or shows Code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

Remove old/ghost optical-drive entries in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows install its native CD/DVD driver. Do not force a generic TSST package if it does not list the TS-H653J ATA device.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA/ATA data and power cables, and confirm the TS-H653J appears in BIOS. If BIOS sees it but Windows does not, uninstall the device, rescan, or clear stale upper/lower filter drivers.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updates?

Accepted Answer

Roll back or uninstall the changed driver, remove third-party burning-suite filter drivers, and reinstall Microsoft’s standard CD-ROM driver. Update firmware only from TSST if the exact model matches.
