Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the TSST CDDVDW TS H653J’s SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and confirm BIOS detects it. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if Code 19/39 appears, uninstall the device and reboot.

Question 2

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, remove any old TSST/ATAPI optical-drive entry in Device Manager first, and reboot before retrying. Do not force-install firmware or drivers for a different TSST model.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows updates?

Accepted Answer

Roll back the driver in Device Manager or uninstall the device and let Windows reinstall its standard CD/DVD driver. If the drive disappears or shows Code 41, uninstall it, reboot, and rescan hardware.
