Name: TSST CDDVDW SH S223L ATA Device Driver
Author: TSST

Question 1

Install fails or Device Manager shows Code 10/39?

Accepted Answer

Windows uses its native CD/DVD driver for the SH-S223L; avoid third-party “driver updater” packages. Remove the device in Device Manager, rescan hardware, and install pending Windows updates.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the SATA data and power cables are seated, try another SATA port, and check whether BIOS/UEFI lists the TSST SH-S223L. If BIOS does not see it, the issue is cabling, port, or drive hardware—not a Windows driver.

Question 3

Version/firmware conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Do not flash firmware unless it is exactly for the TSST SH-S223L. If the drive misbehaves after a driver change, roll back to the Microsoft generic CD/DVD driver and reboot.
